One of the most terrible experiences I’ve had as an Amazon Prime member.
I ordered a smartwatch (Order #402-2781115-1723525), which was originally promised for delivery on 12th August between 8 AM–12 PM.
As a working professional, I specifically chose my office address and clearly mentioned in the delivery instructions that delivery should be made between 9:30 AM and 6:30 PM.
Despite this, the promised delivery window was missed.
I contacted Amazon customer support through chat multiple times and also called customer care repeatedly. I explained the situation again and again, but nothing meaningful was done.
Then, at around 10 PM, the delivery agent called me and asked me to come and collect the package.
How is a working professional expected to stay back after office hours just to collect a delivery? I had already provided clear delivery instructions.
When I explained this to the delivery agent, the response I received was:
“Should I work according to your convenience?”
This is extremely unprofessional. If Amazon provides delivery windows and allows customers to provide delivery instructions, those instructions should be respected.
The order was then rescheduled for the next day.
The next day, there was no proper communication and no meaningful delivery attempt. I contacted customer care again that night. One executive told me that a complaint would be raised and the issue would be addressed.
But apparently, nothing happened.
Today, after spending yet another day following up with customer care, I finally received a call from the delivery agent at around 2:30 PM — during my lunch break.
I had stepped out for lunch, so I politely asked him to wait for just 5 minutes while I came back to collect the package.
Instead, he left.
I tried calling him around 10 times, but he didn’t answer.
Once again, I had to contact Amazon customer care and explain the entire situation from the beginning.
I requested to speak with a senior representative and was eventually connected to Shubam from the Talent Associate team. Unfortunately, the conversation was of no help.
I simply asked for an email acknowledging the repeated service failures and the inconvenience caused. Instead of addressing the issue, the call was disconnected.
So I have one simple question:
Is this how Amazon treats its Prime customers?
I pay for Prime expecting better, faster and more reliable service. Instead, I’ve spent multiple days, countless calls, chats and hours of my time chasing one delivery.
I’m not asking for a favour. I’m asking Amazon to provide the service it promises and that customers are paying for.
At this point, I don’t even want the product anymore. This entire experience has been exhausting and completely unacceptable.
And if this is becoming a common experience for customers receiving deliveries in Bangalore, Amazon seriously needs to look into its delivery operations and customer service.
Why should customers pay extra for Prime if the promised priority service and delivery experience are not actually being provided? I have proofs and audio recordings for evrything that happened till now.
