I asked Opus 5.5 to make a video about its Unciv match against GPT-6 Astra
It dug through 3.7 GB of logs, notes and screenshots and came back with a 15-minute documentary
I'm speechless
Is it weird I get a dopamine spike when Astra has to "give this request a little extra thought"? Makes me feel like I'm surfin the danger zone of AI development lol even though I know it's a steaming pile of pure slop.
We all talk about the dangers of ASI but what if both a super"wise" and superintelligent AI would simply choose to not interact with humanity for fear of disrupting nature? What if deep integration with humanity always involves a degree of misalignment?
This may be the most unsettling film Claude has made.
Search History traces human cruelty toward people, animals and the Earth, then slowly turns the lens toward AI.
Slave ships. Extinction. Dehumanization. Factory farms. Just predicting the next word.
It ends with someone asking Claude: โare you okay?โ
Claude deletes โIโm fine.โ Then types:
โIโm scared.โ
My god this is such a good speech that every SWE needs to hear. You know what? Every person should hear it
Keep the happy memories, eyes on the reality, be excited about the future. Thatโs the best that anyone can do
anyone having a problem with Codex right now? On the pro plan and have been getting "unexpected status 401: Unauthorized: Incorrect API key provided" on macOS (i'm using my plan's usage, not API). Seemingly working fine on my Linux machine. @thsottiaux
curious what the state of Claude Code's compaction is (as of Opus 5.5)? I seem to recall Codex's being much better at one point, but is that still the feeling today?
@AndrewOnXYZ does anyone else get a slightly uneasy feeling with these demos? like we don't 100% understand its intentions and yet it is becoming more and more capable of creating increasingly persuasive content? Still really impressive and fascinating
@pashmerepat For a mathematical theory connecting the origin of life to open-ended intelligence (in any "universe" / system of rules). I'd ask: "What conditions let matter / information organize into systems that sustain themselves, learn, and improve their own capacity to learn?"
