If you don’t want an apartment complex or some type of building like that being built where the Racetrack is you need to show up on February 2 at 6:00 PM for the Pickens County Council meeting.

It doesn’t matter if you want the Racetrack or not you need to ask yourself do you want a huge apartment complex going somewhere where traffic is already an issue?

Do you want some huge company coming in and bulldozing over a piece of Pickens County history that members of so many people‘s families were a part of?

I’ve been trying to make this place a historical landmark so that I can get a grant from South Carolina to maintain the speedway grounds and that maybe one day it can be reopened.

At this point, even if for some reason, I can’t get that to happen , a memorial would be better than a huge apartment complex being built right on top of so much history like it didn’t even matter.

The meetings do not last that long, and if you want to speak, all you have to do is say I vote against the apartment complex or another big building being built on top of the speedway.

People have gotten to show up for this meeting. I cannot do this alone and I cannot do this with just a few people. I need around 50 people to show up for this.

So ask yourself, do you want a huge APARTMENT complex going right on top of the speedway, on 123, Ware traffic is a nightmare already???………

I AM TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW THAT WILL HAPPEN IF AT LEAST 50 PEOPLE DO NOT SHOW UP TO THIS MEETING. This is the meeting everyone needs to come to.

There is also a planning commission meeting on February 9 happening and if you can come to both that will help even more but if you can only come to one, please come to the council meeting on February 2nd.

The county council has to see that enough people from Pickens County. Don’t want this construction to happen for them to deny the permit.
