#funfact the korean title of isytt, “내일에서 기다릴게” literally means “i’ll wait in/at tomorrow” (which is why the english translation is “i’ll wait for you there tomorrow” because using in/at with ‘tomorrow’ sounds awkward in english)

in korean, we almost never use -에서 with 내일 (tomorrow) because -에서 is usually used for locations, not time. that’s why the phrasing is quite peculiar, poetic and special. it doesn’t mean a simple “i’ll wait tomorrow”, it conveys a sense of hope, anticipation and the promise of that day. the promise that we’ll see each other again. the ‘tomorrow’ here isn’t literally the day that comes after the current today. it’s the promised tomorrow. it’s saying that there will always be a tomorrow and tomorrow will always wait for you. there’s a lyric towards the end that goes “the ‘us’ that will meet there tomorrow, will be together till beyond” (you can see this along the bus route as well) and the first sentence of the title track following this album (over the moon) is “you’re my future, the order of my time & space”.
