Oat官微 Donghae Interview: 💙Has your Chinese level improved? What methods do you usually use? 🐶In the past I actually used to study a bit more, but now I’m really going to work hard. Back then there wasn’t as much content, and the internet wasn’t as good as it is now. There wasn’t yt or anything like that, so I used to follow along by reading books or watching movies. But the part I enjoyed the most was when we were promoting in China as SJ-M. Talking with the staff there, that’s when my Chinese improved the most. 💙Any ways to relieve stress? 🐶The way I relieve stress is by working out. I go to the gym, ride my bike, play tennis. I always spend my personal time with exercise, and doing that helps me relieve stress a lot. I’m not the type to get stressed easily, but if I do get stressed, I’m the kind of person who relieves it through exercise. 💙Have you picked up any new hobbies this year? 🐶No, I still have a lot of hobbies now. they’re all exercise-related, but in 2026 I want to pick up a new hobby. 💙Do you have any regular skincare routines? 🐶It's been quite a while now, maybe 3–4 years, I also do one sheet mask a day. And I drink a lot of water, about 4 liters a day. I have very dry skin, so I don’t hold back with lotion, I put on a lot of moisturizer. 💙“Best Friend” is a Chinese song you collaborated on with Weibird. Was there a particular lyric that reminded you of a special memory with your Chinese fans? 🐶First of all, our composer Wei Lian wrote the song and lyrics so well, to the point where it really touched my heart. The lyrics and the mood of the song resonate with me, so even while singing it, I feel like our fans will relate to it a lot too. In life, making and meeting friends, when you’re young you have classmates, but as you grow older, finding precious friends you can keep meeting, doing things together, or even doing nothing together, just having them by your side is a big source of strength and comfort. I related to that message a lot. 💙Do you want to continue trying to sing Chinese songs in the future? 🐶Of course I still think about these things, what kind of song could move you, touch your heart, and deliver a message you can relate to. I keep thinking and worrying about that. If you wait a bit, I’ll prepare another gift for you. 💙As time goes by, some fans have grown from students into working adults, from being single to starting families. Knowing that these fans continue to support you quietly, what would you like to say to them? 🐶There’s so much I want to say, and so much I want to talk about when we meet. I know very well that having someone stay by your side is not something to take for granted, it’s something difficult and precious. But even after 20 years, you’re still here cheering for me, finding me, and sending so much love. So I’m always grateful. I’ve said this before too, but it always feels like I’m receiving homework. When I receive your love, it doesn’t end there, I spend time thinking about what I can give back. I treasure that time a lot. For those who have stayed with me for such a long time, I spend a lot of time thinking about what kind of gift I can give you. We live in an era where people can live to 100, so there’s so much you can watch and so much we can create together. It’s really not too late. There’s 20 years’ worth of content built up, so I hope you enjoy discovering my charms one by one, there’s fun in getting to know more. I’d be grateful if you stay with me. 💙Are there any younger artists you’ve been paying attention to? Do you have any advice for them? 🐶They’re amazing and cool, I learn a lot from our juniors. They do so well that there isn’t much I can say except I hope they continue to spread K-pop and K-culture widely. I’ll also work hard to help spread K-pop.
