"Hindus are sons of prostitutes": Objectionable remarks made in Tamil Nadu

On August 4, while celebrating the return of arrested nuns from Chhattisgarh, an event was organised with many Christian functionaries present. At the event, Ramesh, son of Peter and a Dravida Kazhagam functionary, made shocking remarks:

“Hindus are sons of prostitutes. Jesus was harassed, and it continues today. It’s better to be a Pallan, Pariah, Christian, or Muslim than a Hindu. We welcome them."

Quoting Periyar, he said: "It is better to be anything else than a Hindu, a son of prostitutes, and live without self-respect.”

This is not new!

In 2022, DMK MP A. Raja said:

“As long as you are a Shudra, you are a son of a prostitute. As long as you are Hindu, you are a Panchama (Dalit). As long as you are Hindu, you are untouchable. How many want to be a prostitute’s son? How many want to be untouchable? If only these questions were asked aloud, Sanatana Dharma can be destroyed.”

Why is abusing Hindus normalised in the name of Periyar? Why is no action taken under hate speech laws?
