Shocking experience with Billebon. Recvd poor-qlty neck pillows and tried to use the advertised 72 hour return policy. After wasting 30+ mins. with support, no resolution provided. Why display a return policy if customers cannot actually use it? @SwiggyCares@jagograhakjago

Hotmail Co-founer Sabeer Bhatia has raised serious concerns about life in India, questioning whether economic growth alone can ensure safety and dignity for citizens.
India became the world’s fourth largest economy in 2025, reaching a GDP of $4.19 trillion. But for millions, daily life remains difficult.
Bhatia wrote on X, “Air is unbreathable. Water is undrinkable. Food is adulterated. Infrastructure is crumbling. What’s the point of becoming the 4th largest economy if people can’t even live with dignity?”
His words highlight the gap between economic milestones and everyday struggles.
Air pollution is a major issue. The Air Quality Life Index 2025 shows that 46 percent of India’s population, about 544 million people, live in areas where PM2.5 exceeds the safe limit of 40 micrograms per cubic meter.
Cities like Byrnihat often record levels over 200. In Delhi, PM2.5 reached 165 in October 2025, harming health and life expectancy.
Water remains unsafe in many areas. Polluted river stretches fell slightly from 351 in 2018 to 296 in 2025, but many rivers are still contaminated.
Groundwater in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Andhra Pradesh has high fluoride and other pollutants, making it unsafe for daily use.
Food safety is a concern. FSSAI found over 33,000 unsafe samples out of 1.5 lakh tested in 2023-24.
About 40 percent of paneer in cities like Noida was unsafe, often containing chemicals or synthetic milk. Adulteration affects dairy, fruits, and spices.
Infrastructure is uneven. Punjab and Haryana perform better in power and transport, while other states lag.
The Bharatmala Project completed about 19,000 km of roads, but urban areas still face traffic and limited services.
Bhatia’s warning shows that being the fourth largest economy does not guarantee a safe or healthy life. Air, water, food, and infrastructure challenges continue to affect millions every day.
