It’s kind of like when founders try to reinvent Sales.
No. That’s not where the innovation happens. This is where you follow the playbook. Sales and governance. Just do the playbook. Innovate somewhere else
Another lesson of 2023 is that nothing good comes from weird governance models like you should just be running and investing in normal businesses and aberrational corporate governance structures are toxic assets with capped upside and infinite downside (zero)
The open question tonight was whether Satya and 10,000 startups were investing in OpenAI or in Sam
Probably Sam, even if they didn’t explicitly think of it that way
The lesson of 2023 is that you need a Board of cold-blooded killers
Capitalists who will spill the guts of your enemies
You can’t give your money to people with a fake moral compass based on made up philosophies
First FTX now OpenAI
Maybe having a real Board governing these businesses would be a good thing to do
That would be a thing I would require if I was flinging around $100M at a time
Apple pausing all advertising on Twitter
Duh?
Honestly you could generate a list of companies still advertising here and I bet that would make an excellent short basket. Talk about asleep at the wheel
Soooo strange that a bunch of rich people, investors and VCs are yelling about antisemitism on college campuses but don’t seem to be saying anything to Elon…
A normal person might look in the mirror after their third or fourth statement saying "we are not antisemites" and ask themselves why they have to keep clarifying that to people
