The cave in the background is the majestic, #Geiskirche. In the photograph are his fellow mountaineers, including Franz Weiss and Hans Zimmerman. The cool 50 degree cave is a welcome site after a 500 meter ascent, in the summer heat.

For those in the know cave touring the #Wiesent valley is an epic experience. Most maps only list larger, easily accessible, tourist caves. The lesser known caves are difficult to find, unmapped and fiercely protected by locals.
