@q1ngyang UIUC/ZJU那个联合学院的宿舍是单人间，每人一个compartment room里面有床和书桌之类的，一层楼共享两个浴室和两间厨房。说实话一万元挺值的，比UIUC自己的宿舍条件还好，还更便宜。

@21st_survivor_z @G493481 简化字是1950年代之后的事情了，比1910～1920年代的白话文晚了几十年。简化字的目的是为了减少认字的负担，因为当时农民和工人中大部分不认字，也没有时间学习复杂的繁体汉字，减少汉字的笔画和结构能让这些人更容易学习阅读。这有点像为什么日本的假名在年轻人中更流行，因为使用起来更容易。

@21st_survivor_z @G493481 词汇是一方面，古文书面语的文法也与今文不同，简单来说就是上古的口语文法被固定成书面语一直沿用，但后来的口语发生了改变。1910～1920年代，为了减少庶民获取知识的负担，有意把中文通行的书面语变得得更贴近现代口语的改革，称为“白话文运动”，书面语中的古今分野就是那时开始的。

@21st_survivor_z @G493481 有些人需要解释句读（I.e. 断句和拆分词汇的方式）才能读，有些人则觉得阅读古文非常自然。习惯了古文的文法之后，阅读起来非常容易，甚至比读今文还通畅，不过最大的障碍可能是很多词汇随着时代演化太多需要额外注释。
