Before reading The Bible in its entirety, last year, one thing was really lost on me. That being when Jesus said:
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
I thought he was questioning God. I thought it was, perhaps, a moment of weakness, confusion or that he was just plain scared.
It wasn’t until reading Psalm 22 that the truth of that moment really struck me for what it was.
Psalm 22 was written by King David around the 10th century, BC. Those witnessing the crucifixion knew the words of Psalm 22 because they had grown up reading them. When Jesus says these words, they instantly recognized it and Him.
He’s not asking a question.
He’s fulfilling prophecy—Again.
Read Psalm 22.

@HayesForSheriff I’m going through the New King James Version now. Sometimes I don’t understand what is being communicated but overall it’s enjoyable. I recommend the Spirit Filled Life Bible.
@HayesForSheriff Keep posting your daily reflections. I enjoy reading them and they put the gospel in front of others giving them the opportunity to respond.
