Tulane Green Wave Season Preview: Pats Deep Dive Recruiting @beinthekneaux
Reign St. Clair- @RE_Saint1
6-3/220
Columbus, OH
He recently transferred from Bellefontaine High School (where he started as a sophomore in 2025), moving with his family in January 2026 and becoming immediately eligible for the full 2026 season at UA. As the younger brother of Ohio State quarterback Tavien St. Clair (a highly touted 5-star prospect), Reign brings pedigree, size, and early FBS interest to one of central Ohio’s stronger Division I programs. He is not yet nationally ranked among the top 2028 QBs but has generated buzz through camps (including multiple Ohio State appearances, Elite 11 Regional accuracy win), a productive sophomore year, and strong scouting notes on his frame, arm, and poise.
Passing Ability & Arm Talent
• Arm Strength: Big arm capable of driving the ball downfield and making every throw. Camp and 7-on-7 highlights (including Ohio State events) showcase velocity and the ability to fit balls into tight windows across the field.
• Accuracy & Ball Placement: Elite accuracy standout, won the accuracy challenge at the 2026 Elite 11 Indianapolis Regional. 2025 completion rate of 64.2% with clean ball placement, even under duress. Scouts highlight his ability to challenge tight windows, throw cross-field lasers, and deliver far-side balls with touch.
• Mechanics & Release: Clean, repeatable mechanics with a quick release that allows him to get the ball out in rhythm. Benefiting from brother Tavien’s mentorship on footwork and staying calm in the pocket.
Pocket Presence, Decision-Making & Intangibles
• Poise & Composure: Learned poise under pressure from his brother’s example. UA coach Justin Buttermore and scouts praise his pocket management, he scans the field, stays calm, and makes good decisions. Focused on improving defensive reads.
• Decision-Making & Aggressiveness: Aggressive passer who trusts his arm and challenges coverage. Does not shy away from contested throws when the window is there. High football IQ for his age.
• Leadership & Work Ethic: Relished the move to UA for “bigger school, better competition.” Built relationships quickly upon arrival and is embracing the QB battle with classmate Charlie Hunt. Attending major camps (Elite 11, Under Armour Next, etc.) to raise his profile.
• Football IQ: Strong understanding of schemes; the transfer to UA gives him a better supporting cast and platform to showcase development in a more competitive environment.

The coaches and parents who allow this to go on are the problem. Instead of teaching kids how to play the game the right way and show respect for the opponent they’re worried about getting viral attention. Embarrassing.
I first watched Tavien St Clair as a 9th grader playing varsity baseball and pitching. He scored in bottom of 7th win 1-0. He remembered that game. Rough first season. Expectations were too unreal. He looked really good this morning. Running with twos. He will be fine. Had a really good winter. Great kid
Some nice exposure for Tavien St. Clair
He’s not throwing to receivers or anything, but scouts get a chance to see his stature
If they have any clue, they’d know the #2 player in the 2025 recruiting class is tucked away as Ohio State’s backup
