Alex Rodriguez and billionaire Marc Lore are finalizing a deal to purchase the Minnesota Timberwolves from majority owner Glen Taylor, sources tell @wojespn.
Taylor will continue with full control of the team for two years before Rodriguez and Lore take over in 2023.
@MinnWildlife @mndnr Don’t assume a few tribes speak for the rest of us. Since tribal members can trap NM public land, they will get the blame for everything. Anti trappers consider trapping to be unethical/savage/barbaric, but now only Indians can trap on NM public lands. See how that’s a problem?
@MinnWildlife @mndnr Why update a system that’s not failing? And what do you mean by ethics? There isn’t really any ethical deaths in nature if that’s what you mean
@MinnWildlife @mndnr We’re never getting back to pre Columbus days but populations are doing pretty good. Habitat loss from farming and development have effected populations way more than hunting and trapping
@MinnWildlife @mndnr How many tribal leaders are advocating against trapping? Killing contests aren’t great but are there enough to make a dent in populations? Same with trapping, there aren’t enough trappers anymore like there were ~50 years ago when fur prices were high.
Happy last day of Native American heritage month. This was my first year as an enrolled member of Red Lake after 24 years of waiting so I finally got full Indian hunting and fishing rights. Here’s me enjoying those rights shining deer...
I think I’m done for now but if any natives read this please exercise your treaty rights, it’s one way we can shove it up the colonizers asses. If any non indigenous people have a problem with this go fuck yourself.
I worked as a watercraft inspector on Misi Zaaga’igan (Mille Lacs) I can’t count how many times I heard “those fucking Indians ruined this lake.” Obviously they didn’t know they were talking to one of those Indians. I couldn’t say anything cuz I was a dnr employee...
The treaties either say we retained our hunting/fishing rights or they do not say anything about them, which means we retain them cuz that’s how treaty laws work. This means we legally don’t have to follow state regulations off tribal land
