Dale Partridge says, because of the “curse of Ham” (a racist myth), Africans should be subordinate to Europeans.
I guess I am going against my superior by saying this, but he needs to stop being subordinate to Satan, repent and submit to Christ.
@CovenantReform2@elimcgowan Ad hominem.
Thomas Chalmers and Charles Hodge would like a word here.
This isn't to defend Dale. His views are reprehensible.
But wearing a collar doesn't make you a wannabe.
I am a CREC deacon and there are various practices in the CREC on collars or lack thereof.
Lieutenant Governor John Graves Simcoe founded Toronto. He introduced trial by jury and civil government in Ontario, tried to outlaw slavery, and built up the province’s infrastructure along military lines.
He also established armouries in towns and cities across Ontario, ensuring that Loyalists could drill and defend themselves for the day the Americans came. And they did.
During the unprovoked American invasion of 1812, his colleague Major General Isaac Brock gave his life at Queenston Heights, dying on the battlefield close to Niagara, while leading the charge against Yankee invaders burning towns, villages, farms and livestock preaching “liberty” and “emancipation” that nobody had asked for.
Just as in Mel Gibson’s The Patriot, British soldiers, Canadians, and Loyalists are depicted as villainous psychopaths rather than as people defending their homes, laws, and nation.
@Vicar1973 I curious, would you then consider a marriage between a reformed lady and a papist man outside of the bounds of "in the Lord"? cf WCF 24.3
I know this isn't related to the original topic, but I'm genuinely curious.
Thanks!
@Dave4sythe@elimcgowan@RevZekveld Also, I would agree @Dave4sythe with you on the objectivity and subjectively of the Covenant. And that many FV folks have been wildly misrepresented.
And at the same time I see how Eli arrives where he does. Esp because there are some who seem to have taken FV too far.
@Dave4sythe@elimcgowan@RevZekveld To be fair, shouldnt @elimcgowan submit to his elders, presbytery, etc as a layman? It would be fair for him to disagree with something that he cannot articulate every aspect of
Plenty words have been written on the popish mass. Do I need to articulate every aspect to critique?
JD Hall appeared on Tucker Carlson saying that Muslims were "very kind" to Christians, didn't "tax churches," and even "took care of our holy sites."
In this brief video, I debunk these claims with the actual historical record:
I’m confused.
Canada was founded on Christian traditions.
Then we were told we’re a secular country and religion shouldn’t be promoted in public spaces.
So why does that principle suddenly not apply here?
🤔
@BZdanivsky56175@wyatt_claypool Only one way to find out I guess. Read the Bible. Come to church. Taste and see that Lord is good.
Good trees produce good fruit.
@BZdanivsky56175@wyatt_claypool And you are welcome to come to that true God sir. Knock, and it will be opened. Seek and you will find.
Come to me, says Jesus, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Turn to me and be saved, all ends of the earth. For I am God alone, there is no other. - Isa 45:22
@BZdanivsky56175@wyatt_claypool Every lawmaker imposes morality. The questions is which morals?
Every magistrate will represent people with whom they disagree. The questions is, which has the worldview which rules justly?
Everyone serves a god? The question is which one? The false ones? Or the true God?
@BZdanivsky56175@wyatt_claypool That's impossible. Just as impossible for the Sikh, Muslim, or secularist.
Nobody is neutral. We all have a worldview that we work from.
That means that everyone serves a god of some form.
I urge the govt to serve the true and living God who conquered death and the grave.
@BZdanivsky56175@wyatt_claypool You are free as you want to not believe, but no matter what there is a god of the system. Whether it is Allah, Christ, Buddha, or if there is no God above the govt, then the govt is god. This is an inescapable truth.
Not whether there will be a god of the system, but which god
