“It wasn’t easy on Stevie either but, like me, she dealt with the pressure of what we were doing by having too much fun…She also had all manner of suitors to distract her almost immediately, though I believe she really just wanted to be with Lindsey.” - Mick Fleetwood, 2014
When I look back on the creative process of putting together the material for Buckingham Nicks, I don’t think about writing the songs- but it was an interesting time for my evolvement.
Happy Birthday, Stevie Nicks! Forever the queen of rock n’ roll, a sister of the moon, and the poet of our hearts 💜 Thank you for all of the beautiful music you have given us over the years. We love you!
In November of 1979, Stevie and Lindsey were honored by UNICEF in New York City for donating the royalties of Stevie’s song “Beautiful Child” from Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk album, to the organization 💜
“Stevie and I have some stuff to work on. That, in and of itself, becomes intriguing. I’ve known Stevie since 1 was 16, and we’ve been through things together that no one else has. We know each other awfully well. It should be fun.” Lindsey Buckingham, 2008
The first song I heard of mine was “Don’t Let Me Down Again” from the Buckingham Nicks album. It didn’t get much play in LA, but it got regional play around the country, that felt mind-blowing.
“I think maybe on cable we (meaning her and Lindsey) could have our own show. Just start at the beginning. 1965. Game of Thrones times five thousand.” - Stevie Nicks onstage, 2015
Some scenes from the incredible “Destiny Rules” documentary which covered Fleetwood Mac’s incredible final album, “Say You Will”. This segment features: Stevie laying down some background vocals and Lindsey playing with Stevie’s dog, Sulamith, during tour rehearsals.
“I perceive it to be a deeper reflection of two people’s very separate journeys that can somehow never not be connected. Life goes on…But all these years later, there’s still this private world they have, an umbilical creative thing.” Mick Fleetwood, 2004
