Because I was there, and very aware of climate change from the late 1970s - right up to 2000, and after, it was generally assumed that fossil fuel burning would have been largely phased out by now. 30+ years ago, it was widely understood as the only way to tackle climate change.
Since then, we have been subjected to an extensive gaslighting programme sponsored by the fossil fuel industry, the senior politicians they sponsor, the oligarch owned media, to make the public forget that this was ever the case.
@RedactedDeGen@nazzobetweeting homeless and mentally ill people are some of our society’s most vulnerable to victimization, and here you are: a coward and a fool stoking fears about them. enjoy your swollen amygdala!
@RedactedDeGen@nazzobetweeting liar spreading fearmongering propaganda from outside NYC, all while we live in a society that permits murdering homeless people in broad daylight with witnesses and bystanders https://t.co/RU6RRwV594

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A New York City pastor witnessed an unprovoked police encounter Saturday afternoon in Bedford-Stuyvesant, recording video that shows an NYPD officer repeatedly punching a man.
Conor Q. Foley, a minister and the author of The Bible and Police Violence in the United States, posted video of the encounter to Instagram on Aug. 29.
Foley said they were walking near Nostrand Avenue and Fulton Street at about 3:30 p.m. when they saw a neighbor standing on the sidewalk.
According to Foley's account, two police officers suddenly approached the man and began using force. Foley alleged that an officer identified as Forbes punched the man several times in the face.
Video from the encounter shows an officer grappling with the man and forcing him against a wall along the sidewalk. At one point, the man appears to have his hands behind his back while the officer maintains control of his upper body.
The footage does not show what happened immediately before the confrontation began.
Foley identified both of the officers; one as Officer Forbes and another as Officer Apollon.
Public police-accountability records identify an Elijah A. Forbes, badge No. 18342, as an NYPD officer assigned to the 79th Precinct since September 2025.
The database lists two previous civilian complaints containing two allegations against Forbes, neither of which was substantiated.
A May 2025 complaint alleged physical force involving a Black man between 55 and 59 years old; the complainant withdrew that complaint.
A July 2026 complaint alleged a discourteous gesture and was closed under the Civilian Complaint Review Board's Strategic Resource Allocation Determination process rather than resulting in a substantiated finding.
As of Saturday evening, the man's identity, the reason for his detention, and any charges against him had not been publicly confirmed.
@Imaniluv3@CuteCatposte what do you mean tf? as someone who’s dealt with washing animals covered in diarrhea before, stopping to film was not in my mind in the slightest
The current discourse is really just about what matters more? Women's and girls basic safety or men's sexual desires. And wouldn't you believe it! Everyone agrees that the later is more important. Especially the "progressives"
thing that really pisses me off about this is that a society w/ an abundance of this lifestyle is actually wonderful and idyllic, but i just know all this generation politically /economically pulled the ladder up behind them lol
former hippy trust fund baby boomers, who via social security receive 10 cents of every dollar you, a hard working young person, make, have had $200 leases on 5000 square foot loft apartments in manhattan for 60 years, making some of the worst most tasteless "art" youve ever seen
@Pherdnut@ChristoRixman another useless establishment-dem-apologist flapping their mouth advocating for nothing and telling others to to stop asking for more in this world. i wish you would shut your stupid ass loud mouth and let us get on with undoing the damage your kind has inflicted on the world
