@historyrock_ They were both fantastic acts - I remember watching both at the time: Queen were stunning, the engagement with the audience was 100% People at Wembley weren't watching a "show', they WERE the show. Bowie built on Queen's vibe, and EVERYONE there became heroes, just for one day.
At Live Aid 1985, David Bowie faced one of the toughest challenges of his career: taking the stage right after Queen.
Queen finished their legendary set around 7:02 p.m. In just 21 minutes, Freddie Mercury and the band had mesmerized 72,000 people.
Bowie hadn’t toured in two years and had put his band together in a rush. He had to keep the crowd’s energy up after that intense emotional climax. Anyone who went on after that risked leaving the audience feeling disappointed or exhausted. The bar was set incredibly high.
But Bowie pulled it off with class and professionalism. He started with “TVC 15,” followed with “Rebel Rebel” and “Modern Love,” and closed with an emotional “Heroes” that had the crowd singing along at the top of their lungs. He proved he was one of the few artists capable of holding his own after Queen.

@HazelLiaqa4848 That moron loves inflation. Why would anyone trust the piece of shit trying to destroy the country and the planet so his buddies in big oil can make us pay more. Black coal isn't a fucking solution. Time for Donnie Quixote to chase windmills from a nursing home
@HazelLiaqa4848 Even this President's BEST ideas, on his "BEST day," are THOROUGHLY SATURATED in exploitation & greed.
For him to have ANY OPINION AT ALL about a former President, as tho he's a Gladiator in a ring or hero of old, is disgusting.
He DEMANDS WORSHIP.
MAKES IDOLS -- of HIMSELF!
@HazelLiaqa4848 Well, those of us who are paying attention to the world beyond trump’s rhetoric know how stupid he is.
We could follow Australia’s example in more ways than just this.
Expanding our use of wind & solar power would be putting America first.
@HazelLiaqa4848 No. Good grief, what are you going to say when energy costs double or triple. We need an alternative energy source that is cheaper than what we have right now.
