Happy New Year, my Groovers 💪🏾💯
When your sound is unique, they will find you other artists included. If you go around begging for attention, you lose leverage and respect. I learnt this the hard way in the past.
I’m not throwing shade this is just my perspective. Shout out to the South African scene for creating Amapiano; I genuinely love the sound. I even paid tribute to Brenda Fassie on “Eh Dey Hot.” That said, as an artist, I still want to create from the essence of my own culture.
I feel like the Nigerian music industry has really pivoted away from its traditional style over the past 5 years. Afrobeats isn’t what it used to be anymore. A-list artists have pushed Amapiano as the major export, and it now feels clearer that we haven’t stayed true to our sound
2026: I’m not seeking validation or chasing opinions about me or my music. People with bad vibes get removed no questions asked. I radiate authenticity, and if my frequency intimidates you, feel free to disconnect.
