@thinkdefence Great news as long as it doesn't get cancelled by the Greens! We could do with a dozen or more in Australia, but Labor, and their "Mini-twit", Bowen, oppose any. They are VERY unlikely to retain power, and IF One Nation gets in, which is likely, Nuclear power is a ded cert!
@thinkdefence I like it a lot! One vehicle, autonomous or controlled, derived simply and quickly from a readily available commercial unit from a quality manufacturer fulfilling multiple functions efficiently and with ease, what's not to like!?
@TheFigen_ Superb clip, watched it heaps of times, still love it. This is not to detract from the absolute beauty that is Adele's original, one of my all-time favourite renditions!
The thing people don't take into account is the fact containerised weapon systems, etc. can operate from anywhere, land or sea, so they will never be wasted or made redundant if one aspect is now nullified.
@mercoglianos Putting containerised weapon and other systems is a good idea during war, and easy to achieve IF they are already procured and stored conveniently, otherwise you have the difficulty of trying to build packages, when the Navy is equipping their own fleet (conflict of priorities!).
@thinkdefence I'd also suggest that this type of vehicle would be of massive benefit for the revised capabilities of the Royal Marines, they don't need a 6x6 or 8x8 HX series truck, if they have a UGV tractor unit like this, small and easy to carry in any Amphib. vessel.
@thinkdefence Imagine a convoy, One main armoured vehicle up front BOXER or Patria 6x6, the control /coordination vehicle. Then you have 11 x Container and/or DROPS vehicles with this unmanned tractor, you have the rear container filled with Fast FPV or UAV counter-drones....a lot of them!
@thinkdefence This whole display of range of types & models critical to Army needs, is just so damn wonderful, almost perfect in its own rights, that the UK MoD / British Army will be stupid in extreme not to adopt immediately!!!
@lippyent Back in the 60's, my Parents used to drive us all to the North Yorkshire Moors area, thousands of bushes there. No idea if its still the same, haven't been back for 30 or more years.
@lizzkelly7 I had a similar experience long ago. My Manager gazumped an idea I had to speed things up, engineering wise. Spouted the idea out, side-swiped by our Project Manager who turned to me and said, "...that was the one you told me about a week ago..." very embarrassing for someone!
@thinkdefence You've been warned before about using Commonsense. Unfortunately, most of MoD & the Forces still suffer from Gucci-itis.... Attritable? Gawd forbid! We have the same problem in Australia, so not unique to the UK.
