Another great poster at the #esove, @daviddoescience shows how LAMP assays can be used as a cost-effective xenosurveillance approach using reusable aluminium coffee cups! Have a look at S7-P09.
We have arrived at ESOVE! Looking forward to a fun week full of vector biology. Members of our OHE team will be presenting and brought posters. We'll keep you updated and hope to see you in person 😁. #esove2024#esove#onehealthentomology
@vectorgen@KonradPhD Cool work Jason! Please also check our latest publication in which we included a similar finding more as a sidenote: ‘Interestingly, we also found a small number of infected Cx. pipiens males with virus-positive leg and saliva samples.’ https://t.co/lf7axTioqS

Nice kick-off of the #OneHealth talks and drinks seminar series, co-organized by @PEandRC and the ERRAZE program of WUR. Next month (7 dec.): One Health & Citizen Science, with @HuyseTine, @BlomRody and @BBriggeman
I really love our campus and its atmosphere @WUR, but some places are still a thorn in the side. Today, I even observed live mosquito larvae in the water of this ‘pond’ underneath our auditorium (Omnia). More greenness will promote natural enemies. @KarenKloth as witness ;).
Thanks for hosting us @ird_fr. And the number of active Ae. albopictus at this time of the year was truly amazing: within 2 min. around 10-15 females could be found circulating around our legs.
Last week @BugproofBugprof and @Anopheline ‘trained’ to Montpellier for a workshop on ‘The greening of cities and the effects on vectors’ organized by @ird_fr. Aedes albopictus still very active in the (beautiful) botanical gardens and nearby city center.
👇 https://t.co/WU7lIkInZB
Teaching @WUR in September means tick hunting for the Basics of Infectious Diseases course. Nice start and tour @wildvanavolare wildlife rescue center (many ticks from hedgehogs!) and today monitoring verges of forest tracks for questing ticks.
