My 83 year old grandma got her first smartphone this year and it's been awesome - she can text! I got her an Apple watch for Christmas and almost everything was super intuitive, easy to use ..... EXCEPT this default watchOS clock face. WHAT IS THIS! It's close to unreadable lol

I was finally able to use Apple’s Live Translate for the first time today to have a 30 minute conversation with my fiancée’s dad.

It was one of the most insane product experiences I’ve ever had. It was genuinely magical. In 9 years we have never been able to have a proper chat because of the language barrier and always needing a translator or having to juggle shitty translation apps.

But…it was pretty inaccurate/buggy. Maybe Chinese is too hard? We struggled to go deep on any topic because the software couldn’t handle complex ideas or fast talking.

This still felt like a glimpse into the future. I truly hope Apple will keep investing in this space. Lower latency, better accuracy, fewer bugs.

The ability to communicate with anyone so effortlessly will change the world.
