AN OPEN LETTER TO MASON GREENWOOD @masongreenwood
I have written severally on this matter since the CPS dropped the charges against you and @manutd took an eternity to make their flawed and tepid decision to get rid of you.
They also had this to say on you as part of their decision to dump you which is interesting “This has required us to proceed with sensitivity and care to obtain evidence not in the public domain, including from those with direct knowledge of the case. Based on the evidence available to us, we have concluded that the material posted online did not provide a full picture and that Mason did not commit the offenses in respect of which he was originally charged”.
As a young man (you were just 19) when you were alleged to have committed an offense that you said you did not do, that Manchester United said you did not do, and that the CPS said they could not secure a conviction. You have been with the club since the age of 7, missed a lot of fun as a child and some people thought that you did not deserve a second chance.
I would have loved to see you and talk to you in person but we will surely meet up soon. Your life is not over and you are still very young. You are one of the greatest talents I have ever seen as a football lover. Let your feet do the talking. Build a better character and approach to life. Move with decent people and get proper advisors. Stir up the gifts in you. Deal with your mental health and that of your partner very well. It is not yet Uhuru.
Those who claimed to be fighting for women have turned against the woman they claimed to be fighting for. They have succeeded in making the father of a young boy jobless. Some stayed on television and called for you to be sacked but they have no evidence other than forming a mob on social media. Some do not know the criminal elements of the offense they alleged that you committed. Illiteracy is a big burden!
Learn from your mistakes as every mortal being will make mistakes including those condemning you and those who said you did not commit the alleged offence but still sacked you. Your rehabilitation must start in earnest.
Go and prove yourself. Do not give the hyenas the opportunity to get you again. Be the best that you can be and show the world that you are not who they think you are.
I started writing about your case as a lawyer and later as a Manchester United supporter. I am ashamed of the management and the way you were treated. Certainly, history will open up on what happened and someone will break ranks to tell the world what really happened in their decision making.
I and millions of Manchester United and football fans love you. We are more than FOUR and our voices will not be drowned.
Good luck and know that you are not alone in your travails. I love you and wish you, your partner, and your son all the best now and in the future. GO ON AND WIN MASON!
The worse circle of friends should be those not able to communicate like men.
Those who take correction for a fault.
Those who boast of always being right.
