@IlirAliu_ Speed only wins if heat input, distortion, penetration, and inspection stay inside spec. The useful automation is not moving faster. It is changing the process while keeping every constraint valid.
@debreuil 100 pins are where a PCB workflow stops being a drawing problem and becomes a constraint problem. Power integrity, escape routing, decoupling, assembly, and test access all compete for the same space. Which STM32 package did you choose?
Hardware should not begin with a blank CAD file.
It should begin with a sentence.
A pocket sized plant monitor.
Six months of battery.
Outdoor safe.
Under $30.
Then the CAD, PCB, parts, and enclosure should follow from those constraints.

@murzik52 $13k changes adoption, but total system cost is still the real number. Integration, end effectors, training, maintenance, safety, and downtime can easily exceed the robot. The winners will make deployment boring, not just the hardware cheap.
@murzik52 The impressive part is not force. It is controlling that force around unpredictable structures, dust, debris, humans, and partial collapse. For real deployment, the safety constraints will matter more than the demo swing.
@NickBoesl Supplying components is necessary, but the bigger opportunity is owning the workflow that turns requirements into a working machine. Europe still has deep mechanical and manufacturing knowledge. The missing layer is making that knowledge composable and fast.
@DynaRobotics The 87% at novel sites is the result that matters. Deployment still meets messy physical limits like sensor placement, latency, compute, heat, and actuator variance. Which hardware constraint caused the biggest drop from controlled tests to customer sites?
@polsia Fixed scope only works when constraints stay consistent across CAD, electronics, and simulation. The hard part is not generating each artifact. It is making every artifact agree when one decision changes. How are you handling that dependency chain?
@JamieOgundiran Hardware is less forgiving because every abstraction eventually meets power, heat, timing, connectors, and physical tolerances. Getting the Jetson usable is part of the product work. What consumed the most time?
Every hardware idea starts as constraints.
Size.

CAD should be the output, not the starting point.

@IlirAliu_ The airframe becoming the manipulator changes the design problem completely. Each joint now affects thrust, control, collision, and task geometry at once. I wonder whether the harder part is routing through the links or planning the shape in real time.
@Alacritic_Super The hard part is between steps 2 and 3. A finished PCB does not automatically produce enclosure constraints. Board dimensions, connector access, heat, and fasteners all need to propagate. Which handoff still takes the most manual work for you?
@jakedahn Image to drawing is impressive, but drawing to a useful part is where constraints become the real test. Tolerances, material, interfaces, and assembly intent need to survive the jump. Are those inferred from the drawing or supplied separately?
