What web3 marketing actually looks like when you stop pretending B2B and B2C exist.
Real examples. Real patterns.
Most web3 projects still market like it's 2015. Separate decks for investors and users. Different messaging for developers and community. Enterprise sales process for one group, community building for another.
That's why most web3 marketing is boring. You're splitting your energy across artificial categories.
The projects that win do something different. They build one coherent narrative that works across all audiences.
Look at how successful protocols actually market:
- They publish technical documentation that's so clear, non-technical people can follow it. They're not dumbing down for consumers or complexifying for enterprises.
They're just being clear.
- They share building updates that work for everyone. Developers see the technical progress. Community sees the momentum. Investors see the execution. Same update, different value extraction.
- They create frameworks that anyone can apply. The framework serves developers building on the protocol, founders thinking about similar problems, and community members explaining the project to others.
One piece of content, multiple use cases. That's efficient.
Compare that to traditional B2B marketing. You write a whitepaper for enterprises that your community will never read. You create memes for community that your investors will never see. You're fragmenting your message and your effort.
Web3 projects that scale do the opposite. They create content so valuable that everyone wants it.
Technical deep dives that are actually readable. Market analysis that's genuinely insightful. Building updates that show real progress.
The content doesn't ask "is this for B2B or B2C?" It asks "is this valuable enough that anyone in web3 would want to read it?"
That's the standard.
Here's what changes when you adopt this approach:
- Your content team gets smaller and more focused. You're not maintaining separate content streams. You're building one high quality stream that serves everyone.
- Your message gets clearer. When you're trying to speak to everyone, you find the core truth that matters. The noise falls away.
- Your community gets stronger. When investors, developers, and users are all reading the same content, they're building shared context. That creates better conversations and stronger alignment.
The projects still stuck in B2B vs B2C thinking are the ones posting generic market updates and partnership announcements. They're creating content that nobody actually wants.
The projects winning are the ones creating content so good that people bookmark it regardless of whether they're "B2B" or "B2C."
Are you educating? Are you providing frameworks? Are you sharing genuine insights? Are you showing real progress?
That's what matters. The rest is legacy thinking from an era that doesn't apply to web3.
