Scores of British MPs campaigning for more overhead power lines because they know it's the most efficient and cost-effective way to build a strong electricity grid.
Will we get any TDs willing to do the same during this election?

On 4th June 2024, despite ideal wind conditions, Donegal lost about two-thirds of its wind generation due to grid limitations—enough electricity to power over 900 homes for a year!
However Justin Moran explains there’s some positive news from the county.

In Ireland Electrified we are developing policy positions to help the transition to electric heat and transport, so that it can fulfil its immense potential. Some of our current policy priorities are looking the grid connections issues and electricity pass-through costs.
The amount of renewable energy available but not used last month -- due to contraints or curtailment -- reached 43% in Northern Ireland and 22.5% in the Republic last month according to an article in today's @Renews. #BuildourGrid

Floating wind energy on the west coast is a great idea, just one question, where’s my grid?
@moranjustin explains why the debate about floating offshore wind needs a reality check 👇🏻

Simple question for all MNW candidates in #EE24 to see if they support Irish energy security.
Will they publicly support the North-South Interconnector going ahead ASAP?
One of the main asks in the WEI #EE24 & #LE24 manifesto launched today.

Great to get an EU perspective from MEP @CiaranCuffe including various European examples about nature restoration, maritime co-existence policies and grid interconnection.
