i added an AI design assistant to the Taste @figma plugin
select any frame(s) and it critiques your work using context from your past designs + everything you've saved on Taste. chat with it to brainstorm and build a plan of edits you can pin right on your Figma canvas
instead of generic AI design feedback, it knows your previous work and inspiration
submitted a big Taste iOS update last night.
one new feature is color search for finding UI/UX inspiration by palette (supports multi-colors at once).
the bigger update is about moving Taste beyond aesthetic preference into product judgment. will share more once Apple approves the build...
almost finished with a cool Taste @figma plugin update that feels like a glimpse of where design tools are going/should be going
select a frame → get a critique against your Taste Profile from your @buildtaste repo → add your own notes/critique → generate new Figma frames that remix the design with improvements and chages
so, not just "make this prettier"... more like: apply my design judgment to this frame to give me more ideas
one thing i experimented with for Taste over the weekend: capturing design judgment, not just aesthetic taste
so i started building "taste interviews”".. quick voice design critiques where you’re shown a design and explain what you like, what you’d change, what you’d keep, etc...
the bigger goal by adding this is for the Taste MCP to give Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, etc. more than your aesthetic preferences, but a glimpse into how you make design decisions
what if you could rent your taste?
today i launched full beta of renting your taste via an MCP on Taste!
you can build a design repo from the Taste @figma plugin, uploaded designs, or organize your favorite designs from the Taste iOSS app/website... then set a price: free, monthly, or annual.
people can buy access to your design repo and inject your aesthetic style into Codex, @Cursor_ai, and @Claude Code outputs through Taste MCP.
payouts are powered by @Stripe Connect.
just shipped a Taste update that makes the home feed feel more like a For You page for design inspiration
you’ll now see more designs (that you're likely to enjoy) from people you don’t follow - so you can more easily find stuff to save to your collections, and then reference those collections from Codex or Claude Code through the Taste MCP
discover -> organize inspiration -> use it while building
apple just approved the Taste update i built last weekend
now your profile can explain your design taste back to you
the more designs you upload/favorite/organize, the more precise your design taste profile gets
it’s weirdly fun seeing your own design style/preferences articulated back to you
designers already have years of taste sitting inside Figma
with that in mind... i (finally!) updated the @figma Taste plugin so you can bulk export frames into Taste, connect the Taste MCP, and make Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, etc generate front-end that feels much close to something you’d actually design
a rather weird idea i built based on a suggestion from @Ian8ach:
what if designers could rent out their taste?
their favorite designs, color choices, spacing preferences, typography choices, general product vibes, etc.
over the weekend, i made it so that, on Taste, you can turn your design preferences into a paid MCP profile for Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, etc.
set a price. make it free. offer a subscription. it will auto-revoke access when someone stops paying.
rent your taste 👅

i’m trying to make AI coding tools generate design outputs that actually feel personalized
so i just shipped a big update to the Taste MCP:
project-specific design collections you can reference in Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.
build collections with design references and ask your AI coding tool to reference the collection when building!
built a weird little Taste feature
you can now import your @figma designs and it turns your design style into vacation photos
the outfits, locations, styling, and vibe are all generated from your taste profile 👅
i’ve been fascinated with the idea of portable taste for AI tools... what if your design preferences could follow you into Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, etc?
so i built the Taste MCP beta over the weekend.
swipe on designs, upload your work, save references you like, and Taste turns it into a living taste profile your AI tools can actually use.
i launched a @figma plugin for Taste this weekend 👅
now you can import your own designs, let Taste turn them into a design profile, and have Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, etc generate UI that actually factors in your style.
the bigger idea: portable design taste for AI tools.
instead of every AI product starting from zero, your taste should move with you.

built an in-app browser for Taste (coming in the next update)
paste any URL, save design inspiration directly from the web, and Taste adds it to your personal design repo
over time, that repo becomes a profile of what you like, so AI coding tools can design more like you
original sources are always linked too
