If you're building something an app, a business, a skill, a career keep going.
The work compounds.
Happy Monday builders. π
God first.
Code second.
Impact always.
What are you building this week?
@buildwithMMO
New week. New opportunities to build.
One thing I've learned from building BuildWithMMO is this:
You don't need permission to start.
Not permission from investors.
Not permission from Silicon Valley.
Not permission from people who don't understand the vision.
You need curiosity.
Consistency.
And the willingness to keep showing up when nobody is watching.
This week I'm continuing to build, learn, document, and share everything openly because I want the next African builder to start with a map I never had.
The biggest gap?
Research β Product β Impact.
Too much stays in journals.
Too little reaches the farmer, the clinic, or the community.
That's the problem I want to help solve.

Here's the state of play in 2025:
β’ Research output is growing π
β’ African language NLP is booming π£οΈ
β’ Agriculture, health, and climate dominate π
β’ Funding still mostly comes from outside Africa π°
β’ Brain drain remains a serious challenge π§ βοΈ
A flood early-warning system isn't one model.
It's an entire pipeline:
π°οΈ Satellite imagery
π§οΈ Rainfall data
πΊοΈ Elevation models
π§ AI classification
π Risk mapping
π² SMS delivery
This carousel walks through the COMPLETE technical architecture:
Satellite in orbit β SMS on a farmer's phone.
Real impact happens when research becomes infrastructure.
Faith gives me patience when the build breaks, humility when it works, and purpose when I feel like quitting.
God First. Code Second. Impact Always.
If you're building with purpose, we're on the same journey.

What works instead: Start with the problem, not the model. Build for low-infrastructure reality. Collect your own data. Ship small, useful things.
This is why I build the way I do, Africa-first, infrastructure-aware.
Follow @buildwithMMO if you're building real AI here.
90% of AI projects in Nigeria fail. The reason isn't talent, we have plenty. It's something nobody wants to say out loud.
The myth: "We just need more engineers." The reality: we have brilliant engineers building on broken foundations.
Root cause #4 - No local training data. Models trained on foreign data perform poorly here. We need African data for African problems and it barely exists.
π Happy New Month from BuildWithMMO!
New month. New ideas. New experiments. New opportunities to build.
Keep creating, keep learning, and keep shipping.
Here's to a July filled with meaningful progress. π

Motivation gets you started.
Small decisions keep you going.
One page.
One commit.
One workout.
One conversation.
One step forward.
Success isn't one big moment.
It's thousands of small promises you keep to yourself.
Keep building.
