I built a fitness app.
Spent more time testing it than building it.
Every day for weeks: fix something, go for a walk, compare numbers with other apps.
Still wrong.
Fix. Walk. Compare. Repeat.
My neighbors probably thought I was crazy.
2.5 months later I shipped MapStride.
Free GPS tracker. Run, walk, cycle. No ads. No paywalls. No assumptions.

Built an MapStride app because I wanted a run tracker that didn't feel like a spreadsheet.
Ended up becoming its most obsessed user lol.
This week: 4km down, Silver Runner locked in on Mapstride
Wild feeling watching your own leaderboard while building it in public

Building FitAnywhere, a free home workout app with voice guided training. Solo, part-time, past few months.
This week: chased down an audio bug where voice cues sounded crackly.
Turned out to be a sample rate mismatch between the recorded cues and playback.
Small fix, but voice guidance is core to the app, so it mattered more than the size of the fix suggests.
