Today, I want to join my voice with my brother Kcee and say this clearly, without fear or apology; I am not a Biafran, and I will never be a Biafran. I am an Igbo man from Ebonyi State, and my identity did not start in 1967; it will not be defined by a war that ended before I was born. Too many people speak as if our ancestors ever woke up one morning to call themselves Biafrans. They didn’t. Not one community in Igboland used that name before the conflict began. The people who built our lineage built it as Igbo. They defended their homes as Igbo They traded across the continent as Igbo. They introduced themselves across kingdoms as Igbo. That identity lives because it existed before colonialism and before any agitation. You cannot delete centuries of identity and replace it with a wartime invention just because you are angry at Nigeria. People shout about Biafra today as if it is an ancient inheritance when the truth is that the name itself did not come from us. It was a Portuguese description of coastal regions that were not even Igbo communities. But somehow, in this era of online noise, people repeat it as if it is our original crown. It is not. It never was. Refusing to adopt it does not make anyone conquered or stupid; it simply means some of us have enough sense to separate historical facts from emotional rewriting. If Biafra was truly our identity, why did none of our great ancestors ever mention it? Why did none of our ancient towns include it in their titles? Why did none of our elders teach it as lineage? Because it was not ours. It came during pressure, fear, and war. Ojukwu needed a geopolitical name for a breakaway state, and he picked something that sounded useful at the time. That does not mean it suddenly became our spiritual identity. I keep asking; if your great-grandparents returned from the dead, how would they introduce themselves? Would they say, "We are Biafrans," or would they say, "We are Ndi Igbo"? The answer is obvious to anyone who has ever sat down with real history. But today, a lot of people want to bully others into an identity that never belonged to us. They use insults because they have no facts. They use threats because they have no grounding. They attack every Igbo person who says, "I am Igbo, not Biafran," because deep down, they know the truth they are trying to hide. I refuse to let a war define who I am. I refuse to build my entire identity on a conflict that destroyed millions of Igbo lives. I refuse to inherit a name created in fear and pressure when my people already had a name older than any agitation. You are free to call yourself whatever you want; that is your personal choice. APT Question for Nicki Minaj on her UN speech on Nigeria & thanking Trump - how dare you center only Christians in Nigerian suffering? I’m all for celebrities using their voices for good but her positioning is at the very least uninformed & uneducated and at most self-aggrandising. I don’t care who you are - if you can’t speak with equal compassion and demand for action to end the genocide of Christians AND Muslims in Nigeria then shut up. Thanking Trump added insult to injury…. like it should be criminal to be this wilfully ignorant and complicit. Let me clear I don’t dislike her - I’m just annoyed. I’ve never given her a second thought but always seen her as a successful talented female in her industry even though I am not into her music. The other guy is an elected Democrat they called a jihadi because he wouldn’t visit Israel.

Who knows Simon's Ekpa's "Finance Minister" Ogechukwu Nkere was meeting with Ted Cruz in 2024. When Ted Cruz says online that 50000 Christians have been massacred in Nigeria. He is directly reporting from InterSociety, the NGO based in Onitsha, led by Emeka Umeagbalasi. The same Emeka Umegbalasi who in 2023 criticised the criminalisation of IPOB's "Sit-at-home" order by the Enugu State Government. He described it as State Extremism. The whole episode is bizarre. A known IPOB apologists concocts figures for Republican Senators with MAGA bases to feed their Evangelical bases back home. Mind you, US federal Election Commission shows Elias Gerasoulis, the Moran Global Lobbyist paid nearly $20000 to this same Ted Cruz in the past couple of months. Within next couple of days, expect more ratcheting up of religious rhetoric by IPOB shills and their likes particularly since Nnamdi Kanu is likely to be jailed.
