Wrestling has always been a huge part of culture in Maratha Families. Marathas have a long history of winning Highest Honors in Wrestling be it the First Olympic Medal for India, 8 Hindkesaris or 2 Rustam-e-Hind. No other community except Jats have as high honors in wrestling as Marathas.

But Maharashtra govt never support the players like Haryana govt does. Maharashtra has continuously topped the Khelo India Games since last 3 Editions, still we don't get enough funds and all of it are diverted to Weak and Incompetent States of Gujarat and UP-Bihar.
