@Stuartmaw1 The hone stone will not cause your blade to get shorter. However, if you get it professionally sharpened, the blade would get shorter. But the blades are made with slotted holes so you can continue to move the it down if this happens!

Pro tip: If you are cutting more abrasive material such as fiber cement or high AC rated laminate, get a second blade for softer materials - like vinyl.
