This entire cycle, ETH L2s have been faded and made fun of: Blast, Arbitrum, even Base.

People say they're not needed because they're "cannibalistic" and "take away" from ETH itself.

To add to the already horrible sentiment, ETHBTC has been in an HTF downtrend until the last few months.

But what if an L2 wasn't cannibalistic or extractive? What if it actually helped ETH?

Round tripped a lot and honestly didn't see this coming

Showed my family my portfolio on Christmas (up almost 10x this cycle), and all they told me was "cash out" and "realize those gains"

Five weeks ago, I was convinced things would go much higher with Trump's crypto-friendly policies catapulting us fully into Alt season

So, I did not take their well-intended advice and did not sell. I did not sell my $Pengu airdrop; I doubled down. I did not touch my favorite AI Agent $Poly but bought more. I did not sell any NFTs, either

I have full faith in these tokens recovering and reaching new ATHs, or maybe I'm just coping with hopium

Meanwhile, I feel the pain, and although I've mentally written off anything not-Bitcoin in crypto, it hurts, and truth is, it's all on me. There's no one else to blame

Who knows how things will be in a couple of months? Maybe hodling through this will certify me as the greatest buffoon of crypto, or maybe, just maybe, it will be the right decision after all

Ignoring their advice was probably my worst decision in a while; in retrospect, this is what annoys me the most. Greed is not always good

I share these words as a reminder to myself, judging my own actions. But also, because I know I am not alone in this feeling
