Josh Kerr runs an incredible 3:44.3 to win the Fifth Avenue Mile in New York.
The Fifth Ave course record of 3:47.52 was set way back in 1981 by Sydney Maree. Kerr just broke it by 3+ seconds -- three days after racing the Zurich Diamond League.
What a run.
TRAGIC NEWS 💔
Ugandan athlete Rebecca Cheptegei passed away around 5.30am. Rebecca is a victim of domestic violence, she was set on fire by her boyfriend ( 75% of her body had burns). She is second Ugandan athlete to die in Kenya. And another female athlete dies in GBV. RIP RC
@chrskab Better idea. Suit is like warmup gear with buttons and you rip it off as you're walking/running down the aisle and the running gear is underneath
What a race for Nia — Congrats!
Nothing but respect for @athiiing for finishing that race. Would have been really easy to step off.

Two months after a fifth place finish at the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, C.J. Albertson returns to Boston and finishes as the top American in 2:09:53 for 7th place overall.
That improves upon his 10th place finish from 2021.

@emmajbates and @sarahall3 (15th, 2:27:58, and celebrating her 41st birthday today) watch @des_linden (16th, 2:28:27) cross the Boston line for the 11th time before all embracing at the finish. @trackjenny crosses in 2:31:39 in 18th. The miler can now call herself a marathoner!
85% sure I packed a sports bra for race day.
100% sure it’s going to be another epic #BostonMarathon weekend and race day.
Who else is ready to #OwnBoylston?
Marathons are so special in that when you cross the finish line, you feel like your life has changed forever. Yet you wake up the next day and life is pretty much the same but in your soul you feel changed forever. Highly recommend everyone gets to experience finishing one.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of David McCallum and privileged that CBS was his home for so many years. David was a gifted actor and author, and beloved by many around the world. He led an incredible life, and his legacy will forever live on through his family and the countless hours on film and television that will never go away. We will miss his warmth and endearing sense of humor that lit up any room or soundstage he stepped onto, as well as the brilliant stories he often shared from a life well-lived. Our hearts go out to his wife Katherine and his entire family, and all those who knew and loved David.
I've been running for 17 (🤯) years and somehow 800s and 400s are still the worst. I can run 1000s at the same pace as 800s, but 800s will always be worse.
