According to an exclusive report by MyDaily, YoonA has been cast as the lead in the Korean remake of the Japanese drama Unnatural.

YoonA will play the role of forensic doctor Lim Doeun at UDI. The character has sharp, observant eyes, a bright smile, and a gentle yet strong personality. She is known for her huge appetite, fiery temper, and relentless persistence, making her a rising star in the forensic field. Thanks to her naturally bright and upright personality, she maintains good relationships with many people. In the original Japanese version, the role was played by Satomi Ishihara.

‘Unnatural’ is a mystery medical drama about forensic doctors uncovering the truth hidden behind unnatural deaths. After airing on Japan’s TBS in 2018, the drama became hugely popular even among Korean drama fans. At the 96th Japanese Drama Academy Awards, it swept six awards including Best Drama, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best OST. The Korean remake will be directed by Park Yooyoung, known for ENA dramas such as The Kidnapping Day and Ms. Incognito.

There has been significant industry interest regarding what YoonA’s next project would be.
