There are generally four kinds of Christians:

Christians by birth – those who identify as Christians because of their family background but know very little about their faith.

Lukewarm Christians – those who identify as Christians but are neither fully committed nor completely opposed to the faith. They are simply in between.

Born-again Christians – those who have personally accepted Jesus Christ into their lives and are striving to follow His teachings.

Born-again and deeply rooted Christians – these are believers who are not only born again but are also firmly grounded in Scripture and mature in their faith.

So here the thing, the people most likely to leave Christianity for another religion are found in the first two groups. The reason is that many of them do not have a deep understanding of Christian doctrine or a personal commitment to Christ. Their Christianity is often more cultural than personal.

So when people say that a Christian converted to Islam, it is important to understand that not all Christians have the same level of faith, knowledge, or commitment.

Those who are genuinely born again and deeply rooted in their faith are generally far less likely to abandon their Christian convictions because their beliefs are based on personal faith, conviction, and a strong understanding of what they believe.

They can never leave Christianity for Islam❌

When I was 13, a boy at school wouldn't stop touching me inappropriately. I told him off. I pushed him away. He didn’t care.
One day at recess, he snuck up behind me, pulled my shirt up, and yanked my skirt down. Everyone laughed.
So, I turned around and kicked him straight in the nuts.

He dropped to the floor, screaming and crying. A teacher ran over, completely furious... at me. "What is wrong with you?!" she yelled. "You hurt him! He might have problems having kids in the future!"
I looked her dead in the eye and said: "Good. I hope he remembers not to touch girls without permission."

My parents were called to school. The boy harassed me, I retaliated, and the school blamed me. For those asking: Luckily, my mom went to the school and absolutely gave them hell. But this was 20 years ago, and the school's mentality was incredibly backward. They completely twisted the narrative; they labeled me as the aggressive bully and the teacher hated me from that day on. They actually claimed it was "unprovoked" and that I must have done something to invite it. Like wearing a skirt meant it was my fault. I even ended up getting punished for it anyway. People think the boy is the obvious villain here, but to me, the real villain was the teacher who chose to protect a harasser instead of a 13-year-old girl.

Let’s compare poor Christian nations with poor Islamic ones.

The Philippines: I was there last year. Majority Christian, about 91%, financially poor. But walk the streets and it's joy and music and hospitality. Cities filled with dancing and laughter. You might get offered a meal and a karaoke mic in the same hour.

Now compare that with poor Islamic countries like Somalia, Yemen, or Afghanistan.

What is the fruit? Fear. Depression. Violence. Kids holding AKs. Women hidden. Joy that feels restricted and illegal. Questioning faith is dangerous. Conversion can be deadly. Apostasy penalties exist.

And our Bible says the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)

Show me that fruit of Islam. Show me gentleness in Sharia law. Show me peace in jihad.

You can’t—because the root determines the fruit. So don’t judge by claims. Don’t judge by numbers. Judge by the fruit you actually see. And if you're honest, you can see which one leads to freedom.
