Because a lot of infusion days it was either that or nothing at all. I usually packed a lunch with things that had nutrients, but most times was not feeling well enough to even attempt eating. Let people have their pudding.
I had 6+ hour chemo infusions, 2-3 of which were spent in a Benadryl-induced stupor that gave me an anxiety attack every time (hated the sensation of sinking weightlessness). Every time when I finally woke up enough I'd reward myself with a chocolate pudding cup from the fridge
I do love it when non-medical people seem to think giving a patient, who is not eating, any food, because they need calories is bad. But, non physicians think that sick kids will just eat carrots, hummus, steak, or whatever. Sometimes we are just happy with any cancer patient getting any calories in any manner.
Every time I check in for a virtual appointment I get a page that says "Do you want to pay $50 now or wait for your bill?"
A) I don't even have copays with my plan
B) Why would I just give you $50 willy-nilly
C) I've met my out of pocket max and know I owe you nothing!
Every time you go to the doctor, you take care of the copay at the desk, and then eventually you still get a bill and you pay it, and then a little later you get an email that’s like, “We thought things over and you actually should give us a little more money.”
@KusiGoose When it starts to make me feel woozy I hit them with the "did you slip something into my IV? They warn me about people like you in bars." Always gets a laugh.
