“4pm: Last Days In The Hills”
It was days like this that made my 4 years in this horrible place somewhat bearable.

This week has been one of the messiest news weeks I've seen in a long time.
From a masseuse dy!ng in a minister's house...
To the k!ll!ngs in Benue...
To threats from gunnmen promising to come back...
To a damn 40-year-old rap!ng a 20-year-old.
And these are just a few of the headlines.
You know how people always say, "Times are changing"? You just have to believe it.
Growing up, we were conditioned to associate bad news with the "Ember Months". Once September came around, everybody suddenly became extra careful. It was almost like crime had a season.
But look where we are now.
Every day feels like an Ember Month.
Maybe it's time to retire that saying altogether. Just Maybe.
Sometimes people ask me why I didn't pursue journalism seriously, considering I studied Mass Communication.
Maybe this is one of the reasons.🥲
When an industry is built around the idea that *
"bad news is what makes news," not everyone is wired to live in that space every day.
Yes, terrible things have always happened. Crime isn't new.
But somehow, the past still feels... different.
I remember conversations with my dad, who served as a police officer. He often talked about handling criminal cases. One story that stayed with me was how, after a court sentenced a convicted criminal to death by firing squad, he would sometimes be among the officers assigned to execute the sentence and transport them to the location.
But when it came time for the execution, he couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger.
According to him, As a Christian, that was a line he couldn't cross. He would remain in the police van while the others carried out the order.
I'm not arguing about capital punishment.
My point is this: there seemed to be a stronger sense that justice would eventually catch up with crime.
Today, that's the part that feels missing.
These days, we hear the stories... We mourn...
We trend hashtags... We move on...
Then another headline replaces the last one.
Sometimes it feels like we're becoming too familiar with tragedies we should never get used to.
Martin Beck once said, "It's not life we're really living in Nigeria."
Every passing week makes that statement feel less like a quote... and more like our reality.
Music is the closest a Being can get to God.
When you dish out Music for clout.
The Eternal universe will expose and punish you.
