@TheFootAnkleDoc Using more expensive implants when cheaper options are available to get the same result is a true value concern however. Huge cost difference with same surgery, same outcome, same surgeon pay, different implant. Usually surgeon choice. That is definitely a value concern.
@TheFootAnkleDoc Hard to quantify value of implant... research/development, quality assurance, marketing, surgeon education, liability and production cost all play into that cost. profit margins are still obscene. But I think cost of implant and surgeon pay are distinct components of value/cost.

@Dr_Bowser@ERGoddessMD Many of my colleagues are still continuing to see elective cases and do elective surgeries. It’s hard to be surprised by the actions of patients when physicians don’t lead by example.
