People imagine there would be no impact to salaries, employment or production if you simply eliminated loans. They think just prices would come down while everyone has the same amount of money, jobs, and we're still producing the same number of homes, cars, and other goods.

Prices may fall, but incomes would evaporate, unemployment would skyrocket, and production would plummet. Every part of the economy is dependent on the ability to lend money.

This was FDRs saving capitalism by drifting into the corporatism-fascism seen in Europe.

The govt in the build up to WWII pushed millions into companies like Ford, Chevy, Phillips 66, Exxon, Du Pont and others, making them de facto arms of the state.

Lend Lease was a sort of corporate subsidy for most of these companies, and when Pearl Harbor happened they were ready and willing to play their role, but as the war ended we got the warning expressed by Eisenhower of the “Military Industrial Complex” that has never been resolved since.

@Mathew_of_LWFAH I don’t understand how this bale is easier to handle than a small square bale? These bales are not anywhere near a thousand pounds, but probably more than 100 lbs making them hard to manually move. Plus they look harder to store than small squares.

The funny thing is that baler is a JD 24T made in the 1960’s or early 70’s but it is basically the exact same mechanism and even same parts as a modern JD 328, except the newer baler is built to run at 80 Strokes per minute and those old ones would run at about 65 making them longer lasting.

Oklahoma has much more biodiversity than people realize.

We have bear, mountain lions, alligators, mule deer, whitetail, elk, pronghorn, pheasant, bobwhite, blue quail, lots of waterfowl and extremely diverse fish in a state with a lot of man made lakes.

The edge of the prairie and eastern woodlands make for some variety.

There are 46 level IV ecoregions, more than all but 3 other states.

A single shot .410 will teach you to be a great wingshot.

I learned to shoot pigeons that would fly from OKC to a feedlot north of town about 30 miles. They would come over a blind hill about 3’ off the ground going 30-40 mph and you had to be on your game to hit them.

My dad would leave me out there at 11-12 years old and with a box of shells then come back and pick me up and when I first started I would hit maybe 5-10 out of 25 shells then when I got better I could get 25 sometimes more from the same box.

You even learn to hold an extra shell in your left hand and reload speedily while they are still flying over and get another shot or two before they got out of range.

They used to show up in Texas and Oklahoma to paint barns until the 70’s and 80’s.

Then the paint would wash off in a few rainstorms.

They had cars and vans that they would travel in.

My granny told me a story where a bunch of the women came into the grocery store with a bunch of kids that went wild and the women were stuffing meat up in their skirts and while the kids were distracting the workers and she told me she remembered them walking out with blood dripping down their legs.
