Phase 2️⃣ of the #StrategicDialogue between @UNODC_SEAP and the Prosecutor General of the #LaoPDR 🇱🇦 on #CriminalJustice issues. We discussed topics such as the investigation and prosecution of transnational organized crime, forensics, scam centers and prosecutors’ training.
The #CCPCJ32 was also an opportunity to organize a meeting between #prosecutors from Southeast Asia and West Africa to network and discuss:

This week, in our joint @UNODC_AML/@UNODC_SEAP Criminal Justice Team training on AML/CFT & international cooperation, police officers, prosecutors & judges from 🇰🇭 discussed during case studies what evidence would need to be presented to a court for a conviction to be obtained ⚖️
.@UNODC_SEAP is starting a strategic dialogue on #CriminalJustice issues with #LaoPDR 🇱🇦. Today we met with the Prosecutor General and discussed opportunities for cooperation, e.g on access to justice, case management, prosecution of drug trafficking and mutual legal assistance🤝
This week @UNODC_SEAP supported the Office of the Supreme People‘s Prosecutor of the #LaoPDR (Central Authority for mutual legal assistance) in developing a booklet on #MLA. We discussed procedures in detail to provide step-by-step guidance to #CriminalJustice practitioners 📚
Glad to facilitate some sessions in @UNODC_WCO_CCP’s regional workshop on #FalsifiedMedicalProducts gathering customs & prosecutors. Great collaboration to foster a broad #CriminalJustice response to falsified medical product-related crime & enhanced multi-agency coordination 🤝

I am deeply shocked by reports that the Taliban have suspended women and girls' access to universities.
The denial of education violates equal rights and will have a devastating impact on the country’s future.
I urge the Taliban to ensure equal access to education for all.
