CBS Los Angeles put in records requests for the contract details and bids and Gavin Neswsom won’t release it

- CBS requested the contract and related records including competitive bid scoring sheets on May 12, 2026. 4 days after the announcement

- Governor’s office sent them to California Health and Human Services

- That agency sent them to another agency)

Legally, they had up to 10 days to respond on disclosure, but that doesn’t stop them from not releasing it

- California filled a first extension under an unusual circumstances clause
- After 10 days, invoked a clause for another 14 days to decide on disclosure

This is already 24 days to even confirm they were disclosable

- They delayed again and promised copies in 3–4 weeks after that decision
- On the due date of July 3, the state requested another 2 weeks

- 56 days since the request, the state still is refusing to provided the executed contract, procurement packet, scope of work and bid scoring sheets

Again, this was all supposed to just be simply provided within a few days

Only one reason for this, massive fraud and money laundering

Every year across North County, foster kids turn 18 and age out of the system with no safety net. Too many end up homeless within months.

We refuse to accept that.

New housing in Vista gives these young adults a stable roof and real support: counseling, healthcare, and a path to stand on their own.

These kids didn't choose their circumstances. North County is choosing to show up for them.

Here is what the Golden Pacific Powerlink would mean for the people who actually live along its path.

This is a 145-mile, high-voltage transmission line Sacramento is pushing through rural North County. In Valley Center, Pauma, Rincon, and Warner Springs, the towers would loom over family homes, ranches, vineyards, and tribal lands that have been here for generations.

Property values take the hit. The views are gone. The character of these places, the whole reason people moved here, gets traded away for a line that is just passing through to somewhere else.

And why this route? Because it is the cheapest. Going around Anza-Borrego or putting segments underground would add hundreds of millions of dollars. So Sacramento decided our communities are the cheaper option.

My office is fighting for any route that spares us.

Reserves should be held sacred.

That money is too valuable and too limited to keep spending the way we are now. I've voted against tapping our reserves every single time, because we keep using a finite pot to pay for ongoing operations.

There's going to come a day when those dollars are gone.

And now we're told the sky is falling because of H.R. 1. It's not. This is fear-mongering, meant to make people believe everyone's about to lose their food and healthcare. They're not.

The only people at risk of losing Medi-Cal are able-bodied adults 18 to 64, no dependents, who won't work, volunteer, or go to school 20 hours a week. We're just asking for 20 hours of work or service to help cover the services you receive.

Everyone else who qualifies will still get them.
