It means developing products that are needed and wanted, which is arguably the hallmark of true innovation. It's not about creating solutions in search of problems, but rather identifying real issues and producing solutions that work.

Is your product a solution looking for a problem? It's an easy trap to fall into.
When developing a new product, it's essential that we first identify the problem and then create a solution for that issue. It's known as solution-first thinking.

Rather than coming up with an amazing idea and trying to fit it into the market, we should first understand what the market needs. This doesn't mean stifling innovation or creativity - quite the opposite.
