@Jenny_1884 The hot days lasted for six weeks, ( if my memory is correct) working on a building site in Maida Vale, looked like I had been down a coal mine.
@chatswithem May as well just give up now, give up working, give up driving, give up everything, as there’s not one thing we can do without being taxed on it. (Ok there’s one, but don’t hold your breath on that) no wonder the country is so depressed and wanting change….
@Jenny_1884 You are so right, we married in 1972, struggled and bent over backwards to get a mortgage of £3800. Yes you read that right, and sold everything I had to make up the rest to £4650, sounds nothing now does it, we lived on deck chairs, no carpet and open fire, oh yeah it was easy🙄
@KemiBadenoch@ThomasEvansAdur Life in this country is becoming more and more unviable, the tax take from this government is astronomical, what is the point of even trying to support yourself, let alone a family. Government spending needs to be reigned in, as a matter of urgency.
@QprEver What’s the point of even trying to achieve so called net zero, when other countries continue to pollute without a second thought, doesn’t the pollution they produce drift around the world, or does the UK have a protective bubble round it, net zero is nonsense….
@LBC I don’t know about it being a wake up call for the Labour Party, it is definitely a wake up call for the voters of this country, if they can’t see where this is leading they must surely have their heads buried in the sand, or some other appropriate place….
