@TbobSmith@Weather_West@wx_chip The Willow Fire isn’t a threat to Breck. It would have to travel 30 miles through 2 US highways and over timberline to do that.
@VicLombardi@davidsirota Shift in ideology from pro-business to pro regulation, increased cost of living, decline of Denver’s urban core, too much rhetoric blaming job creators for everything that ails the state, push to repeal TABOR probably isn’t helping either
@B_DiNucci6 TX state sales tax is 2x CO sales tax. CO cannot raise taxes without a vote of the people, but can charge fees to cover expenses. Thus, a large portion of registration is fees.
@davidsirota Anytime the tax code offers deductions, credits, phase-outs, progressive taxation, or other priorities that are called “fairness” or whatever, you are going to end up with a lot of math. A simpler approach would be to eliminate all of that and flatten the brackets.
@TheProfInvestor If you aren’t a buyer at $15, you should be a seller at $15. Either you have conviction that it’s going to go up (then you should be buying) or you don’t (you should be selling).
The stock doesn’t care what you paid for it. A loss is a loss.
@growthrapidly Slowing growth, under investigation by the FDA, DOJ and now the SEC. Continued high cost of customer acquisition with declining effectiveness. An IP lawsuit that they will lose if they don’t settle. Those are just the highlights.
After using Apple iOS 26 for a few weeks now, I don’t understand why it exists.
- Basic functionality went from intuitive to nonintuitive
- Keyboard became harder to use correctly
- Liquid Glass is a gimmick
- Phone recents/voicemails interface is a mess
@alc2022 Main takeaways:
1) Declining subscriber growth
2) Significant portion of business under FDA and DOJ investigation
3) Low margin, not growing out of that anytime soon
4) New SEC investigation
The risk premium on this company keeps rising
@DeepNotShallow And just like that, DSA Denver killed what could have become an ecosystem of some of the most cutting edge technology out there. People would have moved on to found new companies, creating good jobs. Instead, what exactly was accomplished here???
@A_May_MD I am currently streaming on Hulu with ads, which just yesterday was a giant $HIMS commercial. Today…. Not one commercial. I don’t think that’s a coincidence. This is going to be a huge cautionary tale for everyone involved. The feds are going to set an example here IMHO.
@nikoliasgoninus It’s going to come down to whether there is a determination that 503(a)(b) was abused. Whether their actions deviated from the intent of the regulations, and whether or not management knew it and did it anyway. They built a business on a creative interpretation of the rules.
