In London, there's a woman who goes every day on the subway and sits on the dock just to listen to the announcement recorded by her husband in 1950.

Margaret McCollum after the death of her Oswald Laurence, sits on the bench waiting to hear this recording that became one of London's most famous "Mind the gap" (attention the space between the train and the dock).

In 2003, Oswald died leaving a huge void in Margaret's heart. So Margaret found a way to feel his presence closest.

But from the day after more than half a century, this voice was replaced by an empty electronic recording. Out of distress Margaret asked this cassette tape to the London subway transport company to continue listening to her husband's voice at home.

But, knowing the moving history, the company decided to restore the announcement in the only stop near the house where the woman lives, specifically at the Embankment stop of Northern Line, where all passengers can listen today Oswald Laurence's voice and to think that eternal love really exists.

Wonderful gesture by the authorities.

اپنی عمر کے پہلے 17 سال تک میرے زہن میں بھی باقی عوام کی طرح کئی کیڑے تھے۔ ان میں ایک کیڑا تھا جو کہتا تھا کہ اس ملک میں ایک ہی ادارہ ہے جو ٹھیک چل رہا ہے۔پھر میں اپنے گھر سے باہر نکلا اور اندرون و بیرون ممالک کے سفر کئیے تو معلوم ہوا کہ اس ملک میں ایک ہی ادارہ ہے جو کسی بھی ادارے کو چلنے نہیں دیتا۔

ایک کیڑا ایسا تھا جو کہتا تھا کہ اس ملک کی آبادی کا ساٹھ فیصد نوجوانان پر مشتمل ہے جو افرادی قوت کے سبب اس ملک کا سرمایہ بنیں گے۔پھر معلوم ہوا کہ لیٹ نوے اور دو ہزار کی دھائی میں پیدا ہونے والی نسل کا کتابوں سے واسطہ نہیں، تاریخ سے آشنائی نہیں اور ساری نسل پروپیگنڈا وار کی فی سبیل اللہ مجاہد ہے۔اختلاف پر گالی ہے یا ٹرولنگ۔

ایک کیڑا تھا کہ گوادر سونے کی کنجی، بلوچستان سونے کی کانیں، تھر کوئلے کا کوہ ہمالیہ، چنیوٹ لوہے کا عظیم خزانہ، شمال میں زمرد کے پہاڑ، جنوب میں گیس کے ذخائر، مشرق میں اجناس کا سرپلس اور مغرب میں تیل ہی تیل ہے۔ پھر معلوم ہوا کہ دراصل یہ کہانیاں سنڈریلا ان ونڈرلینڈ کا مقابلہ کرنے کو سنائیں گئیں ہیں۔

ایک کیڑا تھا جس کے مطابق مارشل لاء رجیم کرپٹ نہیں ہوتی بلکہ ملک کی ترقی کا ضامن ہوتی ہے۔ ایوبی ، ضیائی اور مشرفیاتی ترقی کی مثالیں سن کر انگلیاں دانتوں میں داب لیتا تھا اور سیاستدانوں کو روزانہ رات گالیاں دے کر سو جاتا تھا۔ پھر انکشاف ہوا کہ مملکت کے کُل رقبے کا چالیس فیصد تو اس ترقی رجیم نے اپنے پاس رہن رکھا ہے۔

اور ایک کیڑا تو ایسا تھا جس کی دم جگنو کی مانند چمکتی تھی۔ ملک اسلام کا قلعہ ہے۔ ایٹمی قوت کی بدولت عالم اسلام میں بہت عزت ہے۔ دوست ممالک ہر دم ہمارے ناز اٹھاتے ہیں۔ ہم امت مسلمہ کے ہاتھوں کا چھالا ہیں۔ پھر عقدہ کھُلا کہ ہم صرف و صرف عرب و عجم کے بخشو ہیں۔

ایک کیڑے کا سینہ پھُولا رہتا تھا۔ وہ کہتا تھا کہ صرف بھارت ہی دشمن ہے باقی ہمسائیوں سے تو جینے مرنے کا رشتہ ہے۔ پھر پتہ چلا کہ سوائے سمندر کے کوئی ہمسائیہ دوست نہیں

یہ سارے کیڑے ختم ہونے میں وقت لگا تھا۔ میں سمجھ سکتا ہوں جب کوئی اٹھارہ سے پچیس سالہ نوجوان فرطِ جذبات میں اپنے سیاسی نظرئیے،ادارہ جاتی اُلفت یا اپنے مولوی کی حمایت میں اُبھر کر سامنے آ کر ناچنے لگتا ہے تو وہ اپنی عمر، تجربے اور مطالعہ کے لحاظ سے ٹھیک ہوتا ہے۔ اس کے کیڑے ختم ہونے میں وقت لگے گا اور جس دن کیڑے ختم ہو جائیں گے اس دن سے اسے چین نصیب ہو گا۔ اس لیے میرا کہنا ہے کہ آپ میں سے جو جو جہاں جہاں لگا ہوا ہے لگا رہے۔ یہ ارتقاء کا پراسس ہے۔شعور خود ہی اپنا راستہ طے کرتے منزل پاتا ہے۔😌😌
