Theres only one artist whose been able to retain their position atop Hiphop by their ability to stay connected to their age group and still captivate the youth. It's not inauthentic. Its something none of the artists before him including HOV were able to do as long as he's done it. And it kills them that he did it and is still doing it.
Asked Jaylen Brown if it’s been extra rewarding having this career season while balancing all his off-court endeavors (streaming, shoe company launch, philanthropy):
“Exactly— because I think that's the first narrative people like to go with. Like, ‘you're going to be distracted if you're doing other things outside of your craft or what they paying you to do.”
“But everybody has a job, right? Y'all have a job. They’re paying you to be media people, but you’ll also do things outside of that, and nobody counts that as a distraction. So I don't see why anything else with what I do in my personal life should be a distraction, either. I'm having fun with it — I guess we breaking down some narratives. I'm sure in the future you'll see a bunch of athletes streaming in the future.”
