@bilzisdaddy@CodifyBaseball One is DRS based. One is OOA based. One isn't necessarily better than the other and it's best to use both to get better idea on how good a defender is. Walls is widely considered an elite defender, so I'm not really buying the OOA data that says he is a negative defender.
@Seth_3773 Has anyone ever done the analysis on this? Obviously it worked out, but it seemed like the throw would have beat Giambi regardless, and Jeter cutting it off and tossing it likely took more time than just the throw itself.
@TGreenhutOD Tate Southisene is considered a better prospect than Rojas by fairly significant margin.
And neither Frias nor Ragsdale are remotely close to Tate and Essenburg.
@Braves_Jerseys "We had some discussions, but we weren't comfortable with the prices being thrown around. Ultimately we're happy with the guys we have."
@shegone03 But since you asked, the reason their career WAR totals are similar is because of 2 things.
#1 is Era. Most of Alomar's career and best statistical seasons came in the steroid era. So they don't seem as impressive compared to the league average offense during his era.
