Two bills from Northern Virginia Democrats - Delegates Vivian Watts (Fairfax) and Elizabeth Bennett-Parker (Alexandria) - could raise Virginia's top income tax rate from 5.75% to a staggering 13.8%—higher than California.

That's HIGHER than California—currently the most taxed state in the nation.

Meanwhile:

When Maryland raised taxes on millionaires, wealthy residents fled and the state LOST over $1 billion in tax revenue. Virginia Democrats want to repeat that disaster here.

For months, I have been in constant communication with the Trump Administration to develop a multi-phased, strategic plan to combat crime in Memphis, leveraging the full extent of both federal and state resources.

The next phase will include a comprehensive mission with the Tennessee National Guard, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Memphis Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies, and we are working closely with the Trump Administration to determine the most effective role for each of these agencies to best serve Memphians.

Our goal is to accelerate the positive momentum of Operation Viper — an ongoing FBI mission in Memphis with a dedicated task force of federal, state, and local law enforcement that has already arrested hundreds of the most violent offenders. To further support this mission, I have authorized an additional Tennessee Highway Patrol surge in Shelby County, and THP continues to work closely with the Memphis Police Department through the Bluff City Task Force.

I’ve been in close contact with the Administration throughout the week, and will be speaking with President Trump this afternoon to work out details of the mission. I’m grateful for the President’s unwavering support and commitment to providing every resource necessary to serve Memphians, and I look forward to working with local officials and law enforcement to continue delivering results.

As one of America’s world-class cities, Memphis remains on a path to greatness, and we are not going to let anything hold them back.

I'm seeing people on the right, many of them professing Christians, pronounce "you don't hate them enough." It seems to me that's what got us to this point. Many of them do hate us. Some of my rightwing friends on here are not Christians and have, for a long time, insisted we need to embrace the methods of the left. Some of my Christian friends have agreed. But Christianity conquered the world by being the opposite of worldly hate and I don't think now is a good time to give that up.

People on the left often tell us we cannot love the sinner without also loving their sin. Now, some in the church are claiming we need to hate both the sin and the sinner.

Being a light in an increasingly dark world and drawing others to us will be more effective than reciprocating. Just last week, Charlie Kirk gave an interview and said, “You have to try to point them towards ultimate purposes and towards getting back to the church, getting back to faith, getting married, having children...I'm trying to paint a picture of virtue of lifting people up, not just staying angry.”

Beat the left by seeking the welfare of the community in which you live. Get married. Have children. Pray for your community. There, you will find your welfare.  The world says to seek retribution.  Faith says to let Christ take care of retribution. You love God and your neighbor.  This problem we face is bigger than you. It is not bigger than God.  So be wary of those who call you away from our better angels.  It is what this evil wants.
