Well if this is for sure then I think that the transfer portal is about to get A LOT more interesting. 👀

Important note: if an athlete has eligibility remaining after the current academic year based on current rules…then they get to use either the current or new eligibility 5in5 rules once in place, whichever is more beneficial.

In other words if an athlete is on their 5+ year due to waivers or redshirts they still get to finish out as planned. If an athlete had no redshirts or waivers and was originally set to finish their final (4th) year of eligibility in 26-27 they now have a fifth year to use in 27-28…an so on trickle down the line.

@ShelbyCHilliard The portal closes May 13th and this would impact current rising seniors who could now get two years at another university which would allow them to transfer and successfully complete a degree in that time.
