To my followers. Things may get uncomfortable. I've deleted my posts, poems, pics of family, garden & other little slices of my life since 2008 when I joined Twitter. I feel like I'm bearing witness to the end of democracy. I hope I'm wrong. I'll gladly bear your mockery if I am.

There are good people who really believe in the ideals of America, and not in the ultra-partisan, power-grabbing, "burn the house down if we don't get our way' philosophy that has infected many. I hope the #SupremeCourt does its job. It's the early days of the zombie apocalypse

Well I listened to the #SupremeCourt on #Tariffs as I was able at work yesterday. I was glad to hear a significant amount of scepticism re the president's position. I'm hoping the court responds in a way that does not allow tRump wiggle room, or they punt to Congress.

Listening to the #SupremeCourt on #Tariffs. To my ear it sounds like Kavanaugh, Roberts and Alito are trying hard to make room for the government's argument. Critical issues. I want to believe in the court again. I hope they can shed the politics and support the #Constitution

The more they evade releasing the #EpsteinFiles the bigger it grows in my mind. Is Speaker Johnson on it? Are any sitting Supreme Court justices on it? It's no wonder so many have lost their faith when we have leaders who only pay lip service to all that they profess.

@RepMTG I saw your interview on @CNN I'm not a fan of Mr. Trump. I'm very concerned about much of what he is doing. I wasn't your fan either but I commend you for your heartfelt comments. It's ok that we differ on details. Working together is how we really make 🇺🇸 great.

Hey #NewJersey your vote matters. I grew up, went to school, met and married my wife of 38 years in Jersey. NJ people are awesome-and can smell BS a mile away. That BS is Trump and those who bow to him while he destroys our democracy. Fight back Vote for @MikieSherrill

@MittRomney @BarackObama we need our sage leaders, men and women who love our country to join hands and unite the country. No enemy can defeat us save they divide us. We are divided. Please call on like minded men and women to unite and preserve the nation. #peacemakers

Is #Hegseth recalling all the generals for a mass firing or replacing with Trump loyalists? Will #Trump require an oath of loyalty? Is this a staging for a mass-casualty event to give the administration an excuse to grab total power? Will they try to sell a dystopian world view?

...and I say this as an independent voter who started out as a Regan Republican. What is going on should worry everyone regardless of party affiliation. Trump won the election but Congress and the courts must be a check on executive overreach or we are a democracy in word only.

@SenRandPaul are you comfortable with Trump's takeover of DC? Are you so comfortable that you are willing to bet our democracy on Trump not using that power to thwart efforts to stop the next group of insurrectionists he 'encourages' to march on the capitol? I'm concerned...

We need sober individuals from all classes & segments of society to work selflessly with no other interest than serving the nation, and a culture of 'we' not 'me' to pull people back from the extreme positions at either pole. "A house divided against itself cannot stand."

The USA needs a new party but not with @elonmusk at its head. If you want to make a real difference engage respected but not famous people from all sectors and social classes to draft a party that restores the middle. Just everyday Americans who can compromise and bring balance.

@marcorubio what happened to you? I didn't always agree with you but I always felt your heart was in the right place. I didn't doubt your values or patriotism. Now I do. You are embracing what we as a nation have long rejected, in pursuit of an agenda that is not democratic.

@thejackhopkins That has been the most disillusioning part - not that we disagree on small or large issues re what is best for the country - that tug along with requisite compromise is Democracy in action, but that people can be silent or participate in the destruction of our country. 😢

@thejackhopkins Actually I was hoping Marco Rubio was a secret CIA plant activated in just this type of event to ensure we never allow our government to be supplanted by a tyrant. I didn't always agree with him, but that's how democracies work. I assumed he would still put country over party.
